Unite America is a bi-partisan political organization dedicated to supporting policies that will put power back in the citizens of our country.
Modern politics in the U.S. are an extremely competitive environment where content is king, so Unite America wanted to reinvent themselves online with a powerful platform that would allow them to frequently push content and grow their following off of their core strategies.
I was brought in to assist Shapemaker after the majority of the main site had already been defined and designed, in order to develop it out in Webflow in a scalable, performant and intuitive way. After the initial launch I helped to design, develop and optimize several other separate elements and sites outlined below.
This was one of the most complex integrations of the Webflow CMS I have built to date. We have dynamic data integrated throughout the site, from the header/footer navigation and custom sliders, to interweaving relational data between Funds, News, Partners, Strategy's and Team.
Webflow's powerful Interactions 2.0 feature was pushed to it's limits with this project to creatively communicate the sometimes complex ideas and strategies that Unite America supports. Pages like the Our Strategy page boast a dynamic hoverable chart to explain the importance of the Doom Loop, while each individual strategy pages like Independent Redistricting, incorporate both a masthead page load and mouse movement animation, plus interactive tab animations to explain how each strategy works. All animations were created entirely from individual SVG elements layered and animated with native Webflow Interactions.
To empower our client to get the most out of their new website, we integrated various levels of analytics, tracking, and re-engagement strategies. This included using Google Tag Manager to manage most external services, implementing custom subscriber modals and cookies to promote, but not overwhelm ongoing user engagement, and also making on-going UI adjustments based on analytics observations over the course of 6 months post launch.
Unite America collaborates and promotes their brand with many external partners, so we created a built in digital brand guide that anyone can access to reference and download brand assets. Click here to view the brand guidelines and use password "brand".
The main Unite America website was a large first step to bring the organization into a modern, efficient digital precense, but we didn't stop there. To further empower their local engagement across various states, we utilized the same system and components on several other websites for states like Colorado, Virginia and Arizona, while also creating a research documenting Institute platform.
